Solar wind power generation tower will be built in Arizona, USA

In a groundbreaking move, a hybrid solar and wind power generation tower is set to be constructed in St. Louis, Arizona, USA. Developed by Solarwind Energy Tower, this innovative system combines the power of sunlight, wind gradients, and water to generate clean, continuous energy. Unlike traditional solar or wind farms, this tower can operate 24/7, providing a reliable electricity source even during nighttime or low-wind conditions. The tower is designed as a hollow cylindrical structure with an open top that allows hot, dry air to enter. A water spray system is installed nearby, which pumps water from a reservoir and sprays it onto the top of the tower. As the water evaporates in the dry air, the surrounding air cools rapidly, becoming denser and creating a powerful downward airflow that can reach speeds up to 50 mph. This natural convection current drives multiple wind turbines located around the base of the tower, generating electricity efficiently. Each wind tunnel is equipped with its own generator room, housing large-scale turbine systems powered by dedicated drive mechanisms. Because the cooling effect from evaporation occurs regardless of the weather, the tower can produce electricity consistently throughout the year. This makes it ideal for regions with limited wind or inconsistent solar exposure. Additionally, the tower can be adapted for areas with strong winds by installing vertical guide vanes on the tower's surface. These vanes help capture and direct powerful gusts into the turbines, enhancing energy production. This dual approach ensures that renewable resources are used to their fullest potential, improving overall efficiency and reliability. According to reports, the tower has an hourly capacity of 1,250 megawatt-hours. With a capacity factor of 0.6, it could generate approximately 750 MWh per hour. About 18.5% of this energy is used for internal operations, such as pumping water to the top of the tower, leaving around 600 MWh available for sale to the grid. Although output may decrease slightly in winter, the annual average remains impressive. This project marks the first approved solar-wind hybrid tower in the U.S., located on a 600-acre site near St. Louis. It is expected to become fully operational by 2018, serving as a key public infrastructure and substation. The city has signed a 50-year contract to supply the necessary water, ensuring long-term sustainability. This development represents a major step forward in renewable energy innovation and could serve as a model for future clean energy projects worldwide.

LED Underground Light

LED Ground Light

Durable LED Underground Lights for Outdoor Projects

LED underground lights—also called in-ground LED lights or buried LED uplights—are essential for modern landscape and architectural lighting. Installed directly into the ground, these fixtures provide subtle yet powerful illumination, highlighting pathways, trees, building facades, garden features, and driveways with an upward beam that adds depth, safety, and sophistication.

At our LED lighting factory, we manufacture a full range of IP67-rated underground LED light fixtures designed for residential landscapes, commercial buildings, municipal parks, and hospitality environments. Using high-quality LED chips, robust housing, and waterproof seals, our products are built to withstand pressure, moisture, and time.

What Is a LED Underground Light?

A LED underground light is a recessed lighting fixture designed to be installed flush with the ground surface. It emits light upwards—ideal for illuminating architectural features, landscapes, and pathways without interfering with the surrounding structure or foot traffic.

These fixtures use high-intensity LED chips and are enclosed in IP-rated waterproof casings that prevent damage from rain, soil, debris, and physical pressure (even vehicles in driveways or parking lots).

Key Benefits of LED Underground Lights

✅ 1. Discreet & Minimalist Design

Flush with the ground, LED underground lights deliver beautiful illumination without cluttering the landscape or interrupting the visual lines of outdoor spaces.

✅ 2. Safe & Durable

Built with IP67 or IP68 waterproof ratings, toughened glass, and corrosion-resistant aluminum or stainless steel, these fixtures can withstand water, dust, impact, and even light vehicle loads.

✅ 3. Energy Efficient

With premium LED chips, our underground lights provide high lumen output at low power consumption—saving electricity while delivering clear, powerful lighting.

✅ 4. Versatile Beam Angles & CCTs

Available in narrow spot beams or wide flood beams, our lights come in multiple color temperatures (2700K–6000K) and RGB models, suitable for decorative or functional purposes.

✅ 5. Wide Application Range

These fixtures are suitable for driveways, garden beds, pathways, decks, patios, tree bases, signage uplighting, sculptures, and architectural columns.

Where to Use LED Underground Lights

  • Pathways and Walkways: Safely guide foot traffic while adding visual appeal.

  • Driveways and Parking Areas: Install durable, load-bearing lights for nighttime safety.

  • Trees and Landscaping: Illuminate tree trunks, bushes, or flower beds for a dramatic effect.

  • Building Facades and Walls: Create vertical washes of light on architectural surfaces.

  • Swimming Pool Edges: Use IP68-rated models for wet areas and underwater use.
