Nitride phosphors for green synthesis

Ningbo Institute of Materials Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences has used microwaves to successfully prepare high-quality nitride phosphors at low temperatures and pressures. The principle of heating is to use the coupling of raw material molecules and electromagnetic field to convert microwave energy into heat energy to heat the object, which can realize zero-gradient even heating of large areas in the material. It is faster than the traditional pressure synthesis method and the sintering time is short, which is beneficial to obtain Uniform size distribution of powder.

The successful development of low-cost green technology for nitride phosphors will promote the reduction of the cost of high-power LED lighting devices and backlight displays, and will greatly accelerate the promotion of semiconductor lighting technology in China. At present, the technology has applied for the protection of Chinese invention patents and PCT patents, and will be pilot production.
