Among them, in the inspection of the 837 primary and secondary school teaching environment, some schools failed to pass the teaching environment, mainly because the classroom lighting fixtures were not up to standard, and desks and chairs were not equipped as required. Chongqing Municipal Health and Family Planning Supervision and Law Enforcement Bureau stated that classroom lighting is not up to standard, which can lead to students’ fatigue and myopia.
546 schools rectify the teaching environment
The city conducted a total of 1,495 schools (including 43 colleges and universities) in the prevention and control of infectious diseases, drinking water safety and teaching environmental hygiene special focus checks, and 401 schools conducted a comprehensive evaluation of school health.
It is reported that the monitoring of the classroom environment, living environment, and school public places in the comprehensive evaluation is completed by the supervisors using the fast inspection equipment. Among them, 24 were excellent, 297 qualified and 80 unqualified.
In terms of the teaching environment, a total of 837 primary and secondary schools were inspected and they were ordered to correct the 546 deadlines. The major problems with substandard qualifications are that there are no classrooms or desks equipped with more than two models per classroom, and that classroom lighting fixtures do not meet national standards.
Classroom lighting is not up to standard
According to the latest data from the Municipal Education Commission, the detection rate of myopia among pupils in our city reached 37.36% in 2015, and the detection rate of myopia among middle school students was 64.53%.
“The lighting in the classroom is not set at random.†According to the staff of the Municipal Health and Family Planning and Enforcement Bureau, the lighting and lighting of classrooms in primary and secondary schools must meet the national standards. Otherwise, the children will easily develop visual fatigue and thus cause myopia.
For example, classroom walls and ceilings should be white or light-colored, and the windows should be clear, colorless glass. The main window of the regular classroom should be on the left side of the student seat. Each classroom should be equipped with 9 sets of lighting fixtures and 2 sets of blackboard lights. The blackboard lights should be parallel to the blackboard. The rest of the classroom lighting fixtures should be perpendicular to the blackboard. Classroom lamps should have lampshades and no naked lights.
At the same time, the classroom lighting height should not be less than 1.7 meters from the class desk. Each classroom should be equipped with at least two types of desks and chairs, height should be adjusted with the child's height in time, does not affect the child's growth and development.
The Municipal Health and Family Health Supervision and Law Enforcement Bureau stated that at present, Chongqing has started classroom lighting transformation projects. The average illuminance of classroom desktops and blackboards should reach 300 and 500 LUX (light level), respectively, to reduce the light strobe and glare.
90% or more schools have morning inspection records
In the inspection and control of communicable diseases in schools, 96.7% of the schools inspected by special persons were responsible for the epidemic report (82.8% in 2015), and 94.7% of schools in emergency preparedness for communicable diseases emerged. (87.9% in 2015).
In addition, the number of schools with morning check records accounted for 94.1% (80.1% in 2015) of check schools, and there were students' health records schools accounted for 94.8% of check schools (83.2% in 2015), and the number of student health check schools each year was implemented. It accounts for 95.5% of the schools inspected (81.7% in 2015).
