Stamping die carburizing is one of the important processes in the processing of molds, but also the process of stamping die must be processed, but the stamping die is prone to some defects in the carburizing process, resulting in some defects after the die processing. There are five major defects in the stamping die carburizing process, as follows:
First, the hardness is low
The amount of retained austenite is one of the reasons for the low hardness of the stamping die. The amount of retained austenite in the carburized layer is often due to the excessive carburizing temperature and the surface carbon concentration is too high, resulting in low hardness of the stamping die. Another reason is that the surface carbon concentration is low, and the surface carbon concentration is low because the carburizing temperature is too low; the carburizing gas flow rate is small; the vacuum quenching oil absorbs a large amount of air; other oils, such as oil cylinder oil, are mixed in large amount. Vacuum quenching oil is medium.
Second, the depth of the carburized layer does not meet the technical requirements
The reason why the depth of the carburized layer of the stamping die exceeds the requirement is that the carburizing temperature is high or the carburizing time is long, and the depth is lower than the technical condition because the carburizing temperature is low or the carburizing time is short.
Third, the stamping die itself is uneven in carburizing layer
The reason for this may be: air is mixed into the carburizing gas; no pulse carburizing method is used; the pressure of the carburizing gas is too low; the amount of the furnace is too dense; the purity of the carburizing gas is low, resulting in more Carbon black and so on.
Fourth, more carbon black, carbon black attached to the stamping die
When a large amount of carbon black is generated during the carburizing process, electrical short circuit between the heater and the furnace body, the heater and the heater may be caused, the maintenance work of the equipment may be increased; the small holes of the stamping die may be blocked, and the carburized layer is not Evenly, increase the amount of work to remove carbon black on the surface of the part.
Fifth, the brightness of the stamping die deteriorates
The stamping die should be silver-white when it is vacuum-carburized and air-cooled. If the brightness of the parts deteriorates when it is baked, the reason may be: the furnace has a large leak; the vacuum quenching oil is mixed with more air; cooling The gas (such as nitrogen) is not high in purity and contains more oxygen; more cylinder oil is mixed into the vacuum quenching oil.
