The 'G' stands for the English word "Grade," and the subsequent numbers represent varying levels of precision. Lower numbers indicate higher precision and better quality. These high-precision balls are typically used in industries requiring strict standards, such as precision machinery, automotive parts, and aerospace. Conversely, lower-grade bearing steel balls are utilized in less demanding sectors like grinding, crushing, and mixing.
Stainless steel balls encompass several varieties, including 201, 304, 316, 316L, 420, 440, and 440C. From a material perspective, 304, 316, and 316L stainless steel balls belong to the austenitic category, which is non-magnetic and highly resistant to rust and corrosion. Meanwhile, 420, 440, and 440C stainless steel balls are martensitic, also called "stainless iron," and possess magnetic properties.
