The sustainable development of wind power industry urgently needs to be solidified

At the recent Beijing International Wind Energy Conference, Wang Jun, Director of the New Energy and Renewable Energy Division at the National Energy Administration, highlighted key challenges facing China's wind power sector. He emphasized that as wind energy grows rapidly, the existing power system and management structures are struggling to keep up with large-scale operations. Issues such as grid integration, lack of coordinated planning, and operational inefficiencies have led to significant wind and power curtailment problems, which threaten the industry's sustainable growth. Wind energy offers numerous benefits, including improving energy structure, boosting supply, driving economic growth, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, protecting the environment, and creating jobs—especially in remote areas. Over the years, China has made remarkable progress in wind power technology, expanding the capacity of standalone turbines and significantly lowering generation costs. By 2013, China’s installed wind power capacity was expected to surpass 75 million kilowatts, with annual generation reaching 140 billion kilowatt-hours. Globally, wind power is gaining momentum. By the end of 2012, global wind capacity reached 282 million kilowatts, with an annual increase of 44.6 million kilowatts. Wind accounted for 2.6% of global electricity, and over 110 countries were developing wind power, with 90 achieving large-scale commercial operations. In Europe, wind met 7% of electricity demand, while in the U.S., it rose to 3.4%. Wang Jun also stressed the importance of ensuring equipment quality as wind power capacity expands, noting that quality issues have led to more accidents. To address these challenges, he proposed several strategies: reforming the power system to prioritize wind access, improving grid management, and implementing a renewable energy quota system to reduce curtailment within 2–3 years. Additionally, enhancing the wind power development framework, strengthening planning, and ensuring orderly growth are critical. The rapid advancement of low-speed turbine technology has enabled wind farms in eastern and southern China to grow significantly, offering new opportunities for the industry. Strengthening monitoring and evaluation systems through real-time data on development and equipment quality will help guide the sector toward a healthier future. He Dexin, director of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society’s Wind Energy Committee, noted that wind power, as a new industry, still requires policy support. With vast territory and rich wind resources, China is well-positioned for large-scale wind development. Since 2006, the "Renewable Energy Law" has provided a foundation for this growth. The transition to wind energy demands changes in traditional energy management and thinking. Establishing forecasting, generation, transmission, and utilization systems will maximize wind energy use and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. In Europe and the U.S., renewable energy capacity has surged while fossil fuel use has declined. As these trends continue, there is growing optimism that a cleaner, more sustainable energy future is within reach.

The main purpose and scope of application of the shackle: The shackle can be used for the end fittings of the rigging, and is directly connected to the object to be lifted during the lifting operation. Shackles can be used between rigging and end fittings, only for connection. When the rigging is used in conjunction with the beam, the shackle can be used to connect the rigging with the lug plate at the lower part of the beam instead of the lifting ring, which is convenient for installation and disassembly. Shackles are widely used connection tools in lifting operations, and are mainly used for connection parts that are often installed and disassembled in hoisting. D-type shackle is mainly used for single-limb rigging; B-type shackle is mainly used for multi-limb rigging.
