On July 31, according to the Detroit News Network, Sohu Automobile reported that Nissan is recalling nearly 13,000 Versa Note models in North America due to potential safety issues involving certain bolts at the rear of the vehicles. The affected models are primarily the 2014 Versa Note, manufactured in Mexico before July 5, 2024, and sold across North America.
Nissan explained that the issue stems from the insufficient strength of the rear seat back bolts, which could increase the risk of injury to passengers during a collision. In addition, some other bolts that secure the body and chassis may not be properly tightened, potentially leading to them loosening or even falling off. This could compromise the functionality of the rear bumper, reducing its effectiveness in protecting the vehicle in the event of an impact.
So far, Nissan has not received any reports of injuries or accidents directly linked to this issue. However, the company is proactively addressing the problem by initiating a recall. Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted by their local dealers, who will inspect the cars and perform necessary repairs or replacements free of charge.
This recall highlights the importance of regular vehicle maintenance and the need for manufacturers to address potential safety concerns before they escalate. If you own a 2014 Versa Note model, it's recommended to check with your dealer to confirm whether your vehicle is part of the recall and to schedule an inspection as soon as possible.
