The story behind the hands

Chen Donghai is deputy chief of staff of the Hefei Fire Fighting Brigade and has been engaged in fire fighting work for 26 years. Chen Donghai was also responsible for the rescue of the "Nine Warriors" in Yingxiu Town, Wenchuan County, where the Hefei detachment raided the hardest-hit area. At the first time after the disaster, Chen Donghai led eight commandos to fly by the helicopter to the epicenter and was the most seriously affected and the most difficult to rescue. Chen Donghai led the rescue team to climb up to the top of the rubble of about two stories, searching for life traces from the top down. To save more lives, Chen Donghai led the rescue team. Other commandos overcame hunger and fatigue, and clenched their teeth to remove cement blocks. The gloves were worn, the fingers were cut, and the gravel was stained with blood, but nobody could attend. Rescue operations are as short as one or two hours or as long as a dozen hours! Under his leadership, Anhui Yingxiu Town Commando successfully rescued 4 survivors , cleared 13 victims, and evacuated more than 300 people.

Zhu Yue joined the army for only a short period of one year, and his rescue experience was relatively small. However, when he first participated in the fire rescue, he still remembered him. In later rescues, Zhu Yue slowly adapted to the various psychological pressures faced by fire fighters and strengthened physical training, in order to be able to save enough people to save more lives in the rescue. In the recent big draw of 16 detachments in Anhui Province , Zhu Yue won the first place in the Hefei Detachment with the title of “recruited first person”.
