In the first quarter, China’s steel exports increased 18.8% year-on-year

In March 2013, China exported 5.38 million tons of steel, an increase of 1.04 million tons from the previous month and an increase of 4.97% year-on-year; from January to March, China exported 14.43 million tons of steel, an increase of 18.8% from the previous year.

In March, China imported 1.23 million tons of steel, an increase of 330,000 tons from the previous month and a year-on-year decrease of 3.15%. From January to March, China imported 3.23 million tons of steel, a year-on-year decrease of 5.3%.

From January to March, China's steel billet has no export. In March, 50,000 tons of billets were imported, and 150,000 tons of billets were imported in January-March, an increase of 38.6% year-on-year.

In March, China imported 64.55 million tons of iron ore and its concentrate, an increase of 8.13 million tons from the previous month, an increase of 2.67% year-on-year. From January to March, China imported 18,680,000 tons of iron ore and its concentrate, which was the same as last year.

In March, China exported 100,000 tons of coke, a drop of 20,000 tons from the previous month. From January to March, the total exports of 270,000 tons, an increase of 9.5%.
