Biogas

Biogas, also known as biogas, refers to the gas that is converted from biomass, including biogas, syngas, and hydrogen. At present, only biogas has a cost advantage, so biogas is generally referred to as biogas. The scale of the use of biogas in China and the level of technology promotion have occupied an important position in the world. By the end of 2008, rural household biogas had grown to 30.5 million households across the country, and 39,500 biogas projects had been handled for various types of agricultural waste.

As a renewable energy source, biogas is mainly composed of methane. The most prominent feature is that it is clean and can effectively use organic waste, human and animal manure, abandoned crop straw and other low-quality biomass materials. As biogas complies with the requirements of sustainable development and its characteristics of greenness, cleanliness, and environmental protection, developed countries such as the European Union, Japan, and the United States have increasingly favored the use of biogas, and have already been involved in gas storage, transportation, and transportation. Laid a good working foundation. In 2006, the production of biogas in the EU was around 5.3 million tons of oil equivalent, which was a year-on-year increase of 13.6%. It has begun to be used as a vehicle fuel for scale applications.

According to statistics, the number of pigs in China accounts for 51% of the world's total, and the number of farmed poultry accounts for more than 20% of the world's total. It is estimated that one pig has a fecal emissions equivalent to seven people and one chicken has a BOD equivalent to 0.7 people. With such a huge aquaculture industry, coupled with a huge population, the total amount of excreted feces every year is extremely large, and it causes serious problems such as water pollution and eutrophication. It is estimated that at present, there are only about 850 million tons of animal manure resources in China, and if it is converted into biogas, it can be equivalent to more than 78.4 million tons of standard coal.

Therefore, if we can convert all of our country’s huge amounts of low-grade biomass into biogas, the biogas residue and biogas slurry produced at the same time can be used as high-quality farmhouse fertilizers to achieve the sound development of eco-agriculture, while generating considerable green energy. It can also produce significant environmental and ecological benefits.
