Dr. George Wolf said that in Germany, the catalytic decompression depolymerization (CLPD) process has become a scale, which provides a new choice for urban waste treatment. According to him, "The transformation of organic waste, such as plastics, watermelon rinds, etc., can be carried directly into your car."

George describes the catalytic decompression depolymerization (CLPD) process that converts solid organic waste into diesel fuel and pure distilled water. Using this technology, organic wastes are first crushed, dewatered, and packaged into materials. The materials are then fed into a hot oil suspension at 290°C to 350°C in a fluid rotating device. The molecules will be cracked by catalytic converters. The generated steam diesel is cooled by water, diesel fuel and distilled water will be separated in the distillation tower, and the residual waste will be discharged in a controlled manner.

George said, "Through this conversion, 70-80% of biodiesel, 3-7% of residue, and about 10% of pure water can be produced. This purified water can even be used in hospitals." He believes that the use of this conversion technology The volume of organic waste can be reduced, landfill costs can be saved, and landfill, ground and soil pollution can be reduced.

Scientific research shows that the diesel molecule consists of about 15 carbon chains, and vegetable oil molecules generally consist of 14-18 carbon chains, which is similar to the carbon number in diesel molecules. So, in general, what is popular now is biodiesel, which is made from renewable plants such as rapeseed. Light oil made from organic waste is a synthetic mineral diesel fuel.

Although most petrol cars currently use gasoline, the dieselization of automobiles has become a development direction for the automotive industry. Biodiesel can be added directly without changing the diesel engine. Biodiesel is also a typical “green energy source”, which is of strategic importance for promoting energy substitution, reducing environmental pressure, and controlling urban air pollution.

He explained that “Normal diesel fuel has ethane of 52, better diesel is 56 and CLPD produces diesel fuel at more than 60.” So, “Because we have already met EU standards, we don’t need to acquire automobile and engine manufacturers. Certification can be used directly."

The most amazing thing is that because of the high ethane value, this type of biodiesel is more fully burned. If the car is “drinked”, the harmful gas emissions in the vehicle exhaust will also drop substantially, basically reaching zero emissions.

Although the technology is very satisfactory, he also emphasized: "This process requires the early classification of waste and the separation of organic waste from inorganic waste. This is very important." The day before yesterday, he went to Nanjing's landfill site to inspect it. "Cleaners are sorting garbage, and if residents can do as well as they do in the family."

In fact, in the face of the rapid increase in the amount of waste, it is far from enough to control and destroy it alone. Scientifically processing and using waste, and further turning waste into energy, is the current direction of waste disposal.

According to relevant persons from the Nanjing Sanitation Association, at present, there are 4,700 tons of waste produced in Nanjing and 95% are disposed of by landfill. The three existing landfills in Nanjing are already unable to withstand increasing amounts of urban waste.

Experts believe that Nanjing's waste disposal methods should be diversified. Incineration power generation, organic composting, landfilling, and other methods can all be fully utilized, complement each other, complement each other, and form a reasonable treatment structure. However, all use and disposal methods are based on the implementation of waste classification by the public.
