Hydro's Feasibility Study on the Investment and Construction of Aluminum Plants with Greenland Government

Oslo January 8 news: Hydro said that the company has signed an agreement with Greenland, in cooperation with them to study the feasibility of establishing a primary aluminum smelter in the region. The report does not bind the parties and is expected to be completed by April. In this regard, Hydro wants to determine whether Greenland is suitable for the preparation of a primary aluminum smelter with an annual output of 300,000 tons, which may require about 500 megawatts of electricity. The feasibility study focuses mainly on industrial development issues such as environmental, social and economic based on hydropower supply. Both sides emphasized that they will fully consider Greenland's natural and environmental advantages. Greenland Island has also signed a similar agreement with another International Aluminum Corporation.
