Types and Mechanisms of Five Hormone Herbicides

Hormone herbicides can promote plant growth at low concentrations, inhibit growth at high concentrations, and kill plants at higher concentrations. Plant hormones regulate plant growth, differentiation, flowering and maturation. Some herbicides can act on the endogenous hormones of plants and have a wide range of effects on almost all physiological and biochemical processes in plants.
There are five types of hormonal herbicides that have been used in production.
1. Phenoxycarboxylic acids. Varieties such as 24-D butyl ester, 2 methyl 4-chloro sodium. The action pathway is similar to indoleacetic acid. A small amount of 24-D can promote plant growth. At high concentrations, the differentiation of meristems is inhibited, elongation growth stops, lateral growth of plants occurs, causing roots and stems to swell, and blocking the tissue. , which causes the plant to die.
Second, benzoic acid. Varieties such as dicamba (the herbicide). There is also a similar effect to indole acetic acid, which can lead to plant apical growth and leaf formation stop, tissue hyperplasia, and plant growth malformation.
Third, quinoline carboxylic acids. Varieties such as quinclorac (fast killing), chloro potassium quinolinic acid. Such pesticides can effectively promote the biosynthesis of ethylene, leading to the accumulation of a large amount of abscisic acid, resulting in shrinkage of pores, reduction of water evaporation, reduction of carbon dioxide absorption, and slowing of plant growth. Interestingly, quinclorac is effective against valerian, and chloro potassium quinolinate is effective against swine fever.
4. Thiazolecarboxylic acids. Varieties such as Herbicide (High Turk). After application, it is absorbed by the leaves and transported to the entire plant body. The symptoms of weed poisoning are: stagnant growth, leafy green, thickened and re-rolled, new leaves twisted, shortened internodes, and finally died. The high temperature is fast and the temperature is low.
5. Pyridinoxyacetic acid. Varieties such as fluproppiruric acid (to make it), triclopyroacetic acid (cap irrigation) and so on. According to the Chinese Pesticide Network , it is quickly absorbed by plants after being applied and transmitted to all parts of the plant, causing the sensitive plants to be deformed and distorted. As for its specific mechanism of action, it is still unclear.
