Germany's chemical exports again ranked first in the world

According to the announcement of the German Chemical Industry Association (VCI), in 2010, the German chemical industry exported a total of 144 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 17.5%, again ranking first in the world. Other major exporting countries were the United States, Belgium, France, and China, which exported 1,290,970,690,60 billion euros respectively. In 2010, the global sales of chemicals totaled 3.1 trillion euros, a year-on-year increase of 23%.

The main chemical products consumption areas are Asia (46%), Europe (24%) and North America (21%). The major export markets of German chemical products in 2010 were EU (62.1%), Asia (13.3%) and North America (8.4%). In the first half of 2011, Germany’s chemical industry exports totaled 77 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%.

The person in charge of the Chemical Industry Association stated that in 2011, corporate R&D spending will increase to about 10 billion euros, which is confident that this year's exports will win again.
