Steam trap terms, signs, structure length

1 Scope

This standard specifies the general requirements for the terminology, length and marking of mechanical, thermostatic and thermodynamic steam traps.

This standard applies to nominal pressure PN16 ~ 160, nominal diameter DN15 ~ 150 steam traps.

2 normative references

The clauses in the following documents have been adopted as references to this standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments (not including errata content) or revisions do not apply to this standard, however, encourage the parties to reach an agreement based on this standard to study whether the latest version of these documents can be used . For undated references, the latest version is applicable to this standard.

3 Terms

The following terms and definitions apply to this standard.

3.1 Terms related to stress

3.1.1

Maximum allowable pressure maximumallowablepressure

The maximum pressure the steam trap housing can withstand at a given temperature.

3.1.2

Working pressure operatingpressure

The pressure at the inlet end of the steam trap under operating conditions.

3.1.3

Maximum operating pressure maximumoperatingpressure

Under the correct operating conditions, the maximum pressure at the inlet end of the steam trap is given by the manufacturer.

3.1.4

Minimum operating pressure minimumoperatingpressure

In the correct operating condition, the lowest pressure at the inlet end of the steam trap.

3.1.5

Working backpressure operatingbackpressure

Under operating conditions, the pressure at the outlet end of the steam trap.

3.1.6

Maximum working back pressure maximumoperatingbackpressure

The maximum pressure at the outlet end of the steam trap at the maximum operating pressure.

3.1.7

Back pressure rate rateofbackpressure

The percentage of work back pressure and working pressure.

3.1.8

The maximum back pressure rate maximumrateofbackpressure

Percentage of maximum working back pressure and maximum working pressure.

3.1.9

Working pressure differential operatingdifferentialpressure

The difference between working pressure and working back pressure.

3.1.10

Maximum differential pressure maximumdifferentialpressure

The maximum difference between working pressure and working back pressure.

3.1.11

Minimum differential pressure minimumdifferentialpressure

The minimum difference between working pressure and working back pressure.

3.2 Terms related to temperature

3.2.1
